Angel Art

Ideally the ritual of painting (creating) a picture implies building some sacred space, that is, it practically imitates the creation by the Gods. For CREATION (in the highest sense of the word, be it the creation of a poem, a novel, a suite or an icon) has only one exemplary model: the creation of the Universe by the Gods, the transformation of Chaos into Cosmos, the revealing of the unrevealed, the creation of the World.
In fact the artist's work is in full measure imitation dei – imitation of God. For at the moment of working at the canvas, at the moment of Creation the artist gets free from his/her (human) limitedness and feebleness.
In some sense the process of painting the Picture in itself is already a religious act and a means of Salvation
